American University Scholarships

American University (AU) awards a limited number of generous partial merit scholarships to academically-qualified incoming international first-year undergraduate students.

 The University also offers the AU Emerging Global Leader Scholarship Program which awards scholarships to high-achieving international students who wish to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in the US and who are dedicated to positive civic and social change.

 It is intended for students who will be to returning home to improve under-resourced, underserved communities in his/her home country.

AIST Foundation Scholarship:

Open to materials science, metallurgical, electrical, mechanical, industrial, chemical, environmental, and computer engineering majors–apply during Freshman, Sophomore and Junior years. By submitting one application, you will be considered for all scholarships listed below, with the exception of the Samson Scholarship specific to Canadian students.

Apply for a 2013-2014 Senior Undergraduate Scholarship

Scholarships of up to $10,000 will be awarded for the 2013/2014 school year. Successful recipients must be U.S. citizens and enrolled full-time at the senior level (during the 2013/2014 school year) in an accredited civil engineering program, or in a related field as determined by ASDSO, and must demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in hydraulics, hydrology or geotechnical disciplines, or in another discipline related to the design, construction and operation of dams.
Undergraduate students planning to graduate in May/December 2014 will be eligible for the 2013 scholarship.

Minimum Criteria - Applicants must have a cumulative grade point average of 2.5 for the first three years of college and be recommended by their academic advisor.
Basis for Award - The basis for selection will generally follow these guidelines:
o Academic Scholarship
o Financial Need
o Work Experience/Activities
o Essay
Announcement of successful candidates will be made in July 2013.
