2014 Bill Gates Scholars Program 2014

Every year, the Gates Millennium Scholars (GMS) Program selects 1,000 talented minority students to receive a good-through-graduation scholarship to use at any college or university of their choice. The program provides scholars with personal and professional development through our leadership programs along with academic support throughout their college career.
Administered by the United Negro College Fund and accessible through ScholarshipsOnline.org, the program was initially funded by a $1 billion grant from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. Since 1999, it has funded the education of more than 16,000 students, awarding them more than $614 million dollars to pay for tuition, fees, books and housing.
Individuals selected as Gates Scholars will receive funds in an amount to be determined based on their financial need. The amount determined will be based on the cost of tuition, fees, books and living expenses for the 2013-2014 academic year, as well as the availability of grants and other scholarships reported on the financial aid award letter. The average scholarship award in the 2000-2010 academic years was $11,000 per student.
The deadline for submission is January 14, 2014.

Scholarships for Foreigners - study in poland 2014 - 2015 --- Scholarships poland 2014 - 2015

The Ministry of Science and Higher Education sets from time to time a quota of scholarships for persons undergoing education in Poland under international agreements or under decision of the minister responsible for higher education. Foreign students’ scholarship applications falling within the quota are transmitted by Polish consular/diplomatic missions to the Bureau for Academic Recognition and International Exchange. From there, the applications are reviewed by the Bureau’s Section for Recruitment and Education of Foreigners in Poland. The final decision is taken by the Minister of Science and Higher Education.

Scholarships under inter-school agreements
Some Polish and foreign higher education institutions have agreements on temporary exchange of students and academic and research staff. In each case the HEIs involved agree the rules for granting scholarships. A foreign student seeking a scholarship in Poland must meet specific inter-school exchange requirements. Some HEIs have their own scholarship programmes.
European Union scholarships
You can also come to Poland on one of European Union programmes in which Polish HEIs are actively involved, in particular the SOCRATES educational programme which creates opportunities for cooperation at all levels and in various fields of education.
ERASMUS, a component of the SOCRATES programme targeted at higher education institutions, coordinates the exchange of students. Information on this subject is available at national SOCRATES websites.
TEMPUS, a European-Union developed programme in support of international cooperation of higher education institutions targeted at Central and East European countries, is worth noting in this context.
The LEONARDO DA VINCI programme provides financing support for student vocational training schemes and for the development of innovative training or educational programmes or teaching materials. This programme is targeted at young people in initial vocational training.

Check out the scholarships and grants offered by Le Cordon Bleu to qualified students and veterans. Below are a few offered. Check with your campus to inquire about state and campus specific scholarships offered. Financial aid is available for those who qualify, so contact our financial aid representatives to help you determine which scholarships you may be eligible for. And don’t forget to check out other scholarships offered by external sources – a few are listed below.

The BLEU Grant

Le Cordon Bleu offers a grant to students who demonstrate financial need and are currently enrolled in a ground campus program.
Le Cordon Bleu Colleges of Culinary Arts offer institutional grants to students who have financial need, as determined by the federally-calculated Expected Family Contribution (EFC), and are enrolled in one the following programs: Certificate/ Diploma in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts, Certificate/ Diploma in Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking, Associate in Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts, Associate in Le Cordon Bleu Pâtisserie and Baking.
Grants range from $50 to $7,618 per student per year and are renewable for students who continue to demonstrate need in subsequent academic years. Students will be considered for the grant upon completion of the admissions application process and the financial aid application process, including the completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
The BLEU Grant does not supplant the student’s eligibility for a Federal Pell Grant and cannot be combined with any other Le Cordon Bleu grant or scholarship. If a student receives supplemental funding after the BLEU Grant has been awarded, the BLEU grant may be reduced based off of need calculations. BLEU Grant recipients must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress as outlined in the campus catalog to remain eligible for the grant.
The College makes available a limited amount of money each year for such grants. Once it is determined that available funding is exhausted, grants will not be available to otherwise eligible students.

Culinary Scholarships - Scholarships By Major

Culinary Grants and Scholarships and the organizations that award them.
I used to have a list of organizations that offer scholarships, grants and financial aid to students thinking of attending culinary school. Since I am now in association with GatewayGourmet.com, I decided the list would be better served over on that site. There are lots of changes to the list and it’s much easier to maintain just one list rather than two.
It makes much more sense to have the culinary and hospitalty financial aid at GatewayGourmet because that’s where all the schools are now listed. If you are thinking of attending culinary school, baking/pastry school or a hospitality management school and looking for financial aid information, I recommend you check out : Culinary Grants & Scholarships

MBA Open Scholarship

To apply for this scholarship you have to prepare a two-slide PowerPoint presentation as part of your application and upload this to the application site. The presentation will cover two points:
  • your reason for needing financial support
  • a clear description of how the Lancaster MBA will build on your strengths and add to your skills and knowledge base in order to help you achieve your ambitions
The slides should stand alone, with some description in the notes pages. Slides should be uploaded with the application form.
