Scholarships

The San Diego Foundation recognizes that a well-educated and experienced workforce greatly impacts the quality and sustainability of our region. We also believe that education is a right and that all those who seek an education should have the opportunity to pursue their dreams.

We work towards both of these goals through The Foundation’s Community Scholarship program. The program is the largest non-university provider of scholarships in the San Diego region, with more than 170 scholarship funds at an average fund size of $150,000. Last year, $2.5 million was awarded to more than 650 recipients and since 1997, $15 million in scholarships have been awarded.

Australia Awards

The Australia Awards aim to promote knowledge, education links and enduring ties between Australia and our neighbours through Australia's extensive scholarship programs.
The Australia Awards initiative will, over time, build a new generation of global leaders with strong links to Australia.
The Australia Awards brings the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID), the Department of Industry, Innovation, Climate Change, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIICCSRTE) and the Australian Centre for International Agricultural Research (ACIAR) scholarships together under the Australia Awards program.

The National College Gap

America needs more college graduates to fill the job demands of the future and continue being America. Overall only 13% of hispanics have a 4-year college degree and 19% a 2-year degree or higher.
To restore America's lead in the world  we need to increase Hispanic college graduation from 19% to 60% by the year 2025.  We need 14 million more Hispanic graduates.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund

We are the nation's largest not-for-profit organization supporting Hispanic higher education.  Founded in 1975, HSF provides American families with the financial and educational resources they need to achieve a college education and help America remain globally competitive.
Our mission is to increase the number of Hispanic college graduates by providing scholarships and assistance to students and their families. We envision a future when every Hispanic household benefits from someone in the family with a college degree, creating an enduring impact for generations to come.
HSF is recognized as one of the best-managed charitable organizations in the U.S. We have a long track record of transparency, efficient fund distribution, and proven results.
